The sampler consists of the following major assembly units:

  • frame
  • carriage
  • lowering and lifting mechanism
  • sampling mechanism (four samplers)

The delivery set of the item includes a partially disassembled sampler (brackets and samplers are detached) to ensure transportation, a certificate and an operation manual.

The cableware is not included in the set.

Principle of operation of the pneumatic sampler.

The frame is welded structural steel made of rolled metal and is a load-carrying part of the sampler. At the bottom of the frame, two brackets are attached to provide vertical travel of the sampler.

Two carriages represent a welded structure and are the carrying part of the sampling mechanism, this part is equipped with rollers and can move up and down on the frame.

The lowering and lifting mechanism is intended for moving the carriage and dipping the sampling mechanism into the mass of grain and oil seeds that are in the vehicle body and for subsequent lifting into the initial position. The mechanism provides dipping of the lower part of samplers to the level of 1.2 m below the surface or the road paving and lifting up to 4.1 m. The mechanism includes: drive shaft with sprocket, with gear motor hinged at one end and drum interlocked with brake at the other end, 4 chains, the ends of which are attached by two with carriages, 4 enveloping sprockets and 4 tension sprockets installed on spring-loaded levers. Levers are interlocked with 4x trip gears equipped with proximity switches.

The sampling mechanism consists of four samplers connected with the pneumatic system, two motors, two reduction gears and two circuits that transfer the rotary motion from reduction gears to samplers and two bottom sensor mechanisms with spring-loaded bars, bottom parts of which are lowered 40-50 mm below the bottom part of samplers. Each sampler consists of two concentrically located pipes: fixed internal and rotating external. The upper part of the internal pipe is connected with the pneumatic system, and its bottom part has annular clearance with the external pipe around the circumference. In the upper part of the external pipe, at the level of 2800 mm from the bottom end, there is a set of openings, and in the bottom part, there is a cone with a sampling opening. Rotation of external pipes facilitates samplers’ entering the grain mass and improves sampling conditions. The bottom sensor mechanism is equipped with a proximity switch with spring-loaded lever.

The pneumatic system is intended for transportation of the product from samplers into the cyclone separator. The pneumatic system consists of a fan, a cyclone separator, an air-flow shutdown valve installed under the cyclone separator, a collector and a pneumatic network. To prevent grain damage in the cyclone separator, there is a rubber rim installed inside.

The sample collector is intended for collection and unloading of samples and consists of a body with spring-loaded tray connected with a lever and with a cup to be installed on the tray, with its neck pressed to the rubber seal, and is tightly connected with the pneumatic system. The sample collector is connected with the bottom flange of the cyclone separator by a pipe.

The travel mechanism consists of two axles: a non-drive axles that has 2 wheels with flanges, a common axle mounted on 2x bearing assemblies and a drive axle of similar design, which additionally has a sprocket connected by a chain to the sprocket on the shaft of the gear motor of the wheel drive; on the other end of the shaft, there is a drum installed interlocked with brake.

The electrical equipment is intended for provision of switching of the electrical engine control system and provides operation of the sampler in the automatic mode when sampling and when controlled during horizontal travel.

The principle of operation of the sampler provides for sampling of grain by 4x samplers while moving to the entire depth of the bulk in the vehicle body and subsequent transportation of the sampled grain into the cyclone separator using air flow created by a fan. From the cyclone separator, the grain pours into the sample collector cup, wherefrom it is moved to the glassware.

Due to horizontal travel of the sampler, sampling can be performed along the whole length of the vehicle body.
